WM-FX52

The WM-FX52 was a 1993 mid-range radio Walkman that combined digital tuning, full logic control, auto reverse, AVLS, and Mega Bass in a standard upright body. It used a built-in synthesizer tuner with 14 total presets, split across FM and AM, and added a mono LCD for station and mode display.

It was not a slim prestige model, but a practical everyday cassette player with a strong feature set for the period, including a manual tape selector, hold switch, DC IN 3V input, and Sony’s familiar Mega Bass sound shaping. In the lineup it sits as a capable FM/AM playback model, close in role to the WM-FX56.
