User’s Guide

Install and add music

Install the approved PSVITAMAN VPK with VitaShell. Put supported FLAC and MP3 files below ux0:/data/PSVITAMAN/MUSIC/. Subfolders are supported. Keep the rest of the PSVITAMAN data directory when upgrading so settings, favorites, history, resume state, and caches are preserved.

Library and playback

The first launch builds the library. Later launches restore the last known-good library quickly and reconcile file changes in the background. Browse Songs, Albums, Artists, Folders, Favorites, History, and Playlists. Selecting a song starts playback from that point in its queue. Now Playing provides transport, seek, shuffle, repeat, favorite, playback-speed, lyrics, and artwork controls.

EQ, Spectrum, and Cassette View

The equalizer includes Flat, Bass, Treble, Vocal, Rock, Pop, Jazz, Classical, and Custom. PREAMP is saved independently; CLIP warns when the signal clips. Spectrum is a live playback view. Cassette View can open manually or automatically, with 11 cassette bodies and 10 color choices for each body.

Jellyfin

Network opens the configured Jellyfin library for LAN browsing and playback. Alpha 1 is intended for trusted private IPv4 networks over HTTP. Server availability, authentication, media compatibility, and Wi-Fi conditions can affect playback. Never include authentication data when posting logs or screenshots.

Controls and system confirm button

PSVITAMAN follows the Vita system’s Cross/Circle confirm assignment and applies the opposite button for Cancel; the setting can also be swapped inside the app. Hold Up or Down to move continuously through long lists. Close the application using the normal LiveArea workflow.

Troubleshooting

If a newly added or removed track is not visible immediately after a warm launch, allow background reconciliation to finish. Unsupported or damaged artwork can fall back to No Cover without stopping playback. For reproducible problems, preserve the current diagnostic log, remove private paths or server/authentication information, then use the bug-reporting guide.
